CHOLECALCIFEROL

Generic Name : VITAMIN D3

ABSTRACT -

Cholecalciferol is a pro-vitamin drug that promotes the secretion of calcium from bone to blood as well as renal tubule phosphate resorption. Generally called Vitamin D3, this drug stimulates and encourages calcium and phosphate absorption in the small intestine. It is generally used along with four other components to form Vitamin D, which is taken simply as a vitamin supplement.

PRECAUTIONS –

  • As Vitamin D3 is found in various foods such as cheese, butter, egg yolk and liver, it is recommended to have such a diet that includes all kinds of D3 rich foods.
  • Provide the doctor with a detailed drug history to avoid major drug interactions.

WARNINGS –

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • In certain rare conditions, Vitamin D toxicity may occur. The symptoms for this include nausea, constipation, dehydration, or weight loss. Contact the doctor in case condition worsens.
