Lung Anatomy

ABSTRACT -

There are two parts of anatomy of the respiratory system, lung anatomy and airway anatomy. The airway anatomy is divided into extra-thoracic segment which contains the supraglottic, glottic, and infraglottic regions and the intra-thoracic includes trachea, bronchi and bronchioles. The lung has a lung parenchyma which helps in the gas exchange at alveolar level. The different parts of the lung are Trachea, Bronchi, Lungs and parts of the pulmonary organs. The trachea is a cartilaginous, fibromuscular tube. The two bronchi is an airway that branches out. The pulmonary vasculature and the pulmonary lymphatic system are other parts of the anatomy. There may be variations in the anatomy which may or may not cause abnormalities.
