ABAFUNGIN
Generic Name : Abafungin
ABSTRACT -
Abafungin is a broad-spectrum arylguanidine antifungal developed for topical treatment of dermatomycoses and onychomycosis. It disrupts fungal membrane function and inhibits sterol 24-C-methyltransferase, affecting fungal sterol biosynthesis.
DOSAGE –
No widely approved standard systemic dosage is established. Topical cream formulations were investigated/applied regionally for fungal skin and nail infections according to product or study protocols.
SIDE EFFECTS –
- Local burning or irritation
- Redness or itching at application site
- Dryness or peeling
- Contact dermatitis
- Mild pain or discomfort

- Skin rash or hives
- Severe local swelling
- Worsening redness or blistering
- Difficulty breathing is rare but requires urgent care
DRUG INTERACTIONS –

PRECAUTIONS –
