SIDE EFFECTS-

Possible side effects and safety concerns include:

  • Headache, dizziness, fatigue, or gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Laboratory abnormalities depending on class and dose
  • Class-specific effects such as infection risk, QT effects, CNS effects, or liver-enzyme changes where applicable

DRUG INTERACTIONS-

Barixibat may interact with medicines, biologics, vaccines, supplements, procedures, or clinical conditions. Caution is needed with:

  • CYP/P-gp modulators may alter exposure when metabolism is pathway-dependent.
  • Other agents with overlapping toxicity require caution.
  • Live vaccines, immunosuppressants, anticoagulants, CNS depressants, QT-prolonging drugs, or hormonal therapies may matter depending on the drug class.

Patients should provide a complete medicine list, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, herbal medicines, vaccines, and supplements.

PREAUTIONS–

  • Confirm indication, dose, renal/hepatic status, pregnancy status, and contraindications before use.
