Armodafinil is the R-enantiomer of modafinil and is a wakefulness-promoting medicine. It is used in adults for excessive sleepiness associated with obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and shift work disorder. It is not a replacement for treating airway obstruction in obstructive sleep apnea and does not cure the underlying sleep disorder.
