ABSTRACT -
Amylmetacresol is a phenolic antiseptic used locally in oral and throat lozenges, often combined with 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. For lozenges, the usual approach is to dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth at labelled intervals, without exceeding the daily maximum.
