Generic Name: CINPANEMAB
ABSTRACT -
Cinpanemab (BIIB054) is a human monoclonal antibody that selectively binds pathological aggregated forms of alpha-synuclein, the protein that accumulates in Lewy bodies and Parkinson's disease pathology. It aims to clear alpha-synuclein aggregates and slow neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease.
DOSAGE -
Administered intravenously in clinical trials; dose ranges from 250 to 1500 mg every 4 weeks; regimen per SPARK trial protocol.
SIDE EEFECTS -
- Infusion-related reactions
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Upper respiratory infections
- Arthralgia
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -

- Hypersensitivity infusion reactions

DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Limited drug interaction data in Parkinson's population

- Immunosuppressants not typically co-administered

- Monitor for amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) if applicable
- Neurological assessments (MDS-UPDRS) required for trial participation
- Long-term immunogenicity monitoring needed
- Pregnancy safety not established
WARNINGS –
- Phase II results did not show significant clinical benefit at interim analysis
