Generic Name: ECOPIPAM
ABSTRACT -
Ecopipam is a dopamine D1/D5 receptor antagonist investigated in tic disorders and other neuropsychiatric indications. It is centrally active and requires psychiatric and neurologic monitoring.
DOSAGE -
Oral dosing in studies is protocol-specific and titrated based on tolerability and clinical response.
SIDE EEFECTS -
- Somnolence or insomnia
- Headache
- Nausea or decreased appetite
- Anxiety, mood change, or irritability
- Dizziness or fatigue
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require medical attention.
- Rash, urticaria, swelling, dyspnea, or anaphylaxis
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Other CNS depressants may increase sedation
- Dopaminergic or antipsychotic medicines may have pharmacodynamic interactions
- Alcohol may worsen CNS adverse effects
PREAUTONS–
- Assess depression, suicidality, movement symptoms, and cardiovascular status as appropriate
- Use caution with activities requiring alertness
- Pediatric use requires protocol/label guidance
WARNINGS –
- Monitor for mood worsening or suicidal ideation
- Do not discontinue or combine with psychiatric medicines without specialist advice
