ASCRINVACUMAB
Generic Name: ASCRINVACUMAB
ABSTRACT -
Ascrinvacumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody directed against activin receptor-like kinase 1 (ALK1/ACVRL1), a receptor involved in angiogenesis and TGF-beta-superfamily signaling. It has been studied in advanced solid tumors and antiangiogenic oncology strategies. It is not a routine approved anticancer medicine and should be considered investigational or research-limited unless specifically authorized in a jurisdiction.
DOSAGE -
No approved standard dosage is established. Clinical-trial regimens use intravenous administration at protocol-defined doses and intervals. Infusion rate, premedication, monitoring, and dose modifications must follow the trial protocol.
SIDE EFFECTS–
- Possible or reported side effects may include:
- Fatigue
- Infusion-related reaction
- Headache
- Nausea
- Hypertension or vascular effects
- Bleeding or thrombotic risk theoretically related to angiogenesis modulation
- Laboratory abnormalities
- Infection risk when combined with other anticancer therapies
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
Infusion or hypersensitivity reactions may include fever, chills, rash, hives, swelling, dyspnea, wheeze, hypotension, or anaphylaxis.
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Use caution with:
- Other antiangiogenic medicines such as VEGF pathway inhibitors
- Chemotherapy or immune checkpoint inhibitors with overlapping toxicity
- Anticoagulants or antiplatelets
- Other investigational anticancer agents
- Patients should inform healthcare providers about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, herbal products, and supplements they are using.
PREAUTIONS–
- Assess bleeding risk, wound-healing status, blood pressure, organ function, and cancer history.
- Monitor during and after infusion.
- Avoid use around major surgery unless protocol allows.
WARNINGS –
- Serious infusion reactions and vascular complications require immediate medical evaluation.
- Use only under oncology specialist supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- In case of overdose, severe reaction, or clinical deterioration, seek immediate medical attention.
