CORAMITUG
Generic Name: CORAMITUG
ABSTRACT -
Coramitug is a monoclonal antibody targeting fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), a phosphaturic hormone that inhibits renal phosphate reabsorption and vitamin D activation. By blocking FGF23, coramitug restores phosphate homeostasis in conditions of FGF23 excess. It is under clinical investigation for tumor-induced osteomalacia and FGF23-related hypophosphatemic disorders.
DOSAGE -
Administered subcutaneously per clinical trial protocol; dosing frequency under investigation.
SIDE EEFECTS -
- Hyperphosphatemia
- Injection site reactions
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Musculoskeletal pain
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
(These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require medical attention.)
- Injection site hypersensitivity
- Generalized urticaria
- Anaphylaxis (rare)
- Angioedema
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Phosphate supplements may cause additive hyperphosphatemia
- Active vitamin D analogues — combined use may elevate calcium
- Monitor with calcium-containing preparations
PREAUTONS–
- Monitor serum phosphate and calcium regularly
- Risk of ectopic calcification with uncontrolled hyperphosphatemia
- Use with caution in renal impairment
- Pregnancy safety not established
WARNINGS –
- Severe hyperphosphatemia leading to calcification
- Hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis
- Embryo-fetal risk — contraception required
