CERTEPETIDE
Generic Name: CERTEPETIDE
ABSTRACT -
Certepetide is an investigational therapeutic peptide targeting a specific receptor or enzyme implicated in a disease pathway under clinical evaluation. Peptide-based drugs offer high target specificity with favourable tolerability profiles. Phase I studies are characterising pharmacokinetics, safety, and early efficacy signals in the intended patient population.
DOSAGE -
Route of administration (subcutaneous or intravenous) and dosing frequency defined in Phase I protocols; dose escalation ongoing.
SIDE EFFECTS-
- Injection site reactions
- Headache
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Mild hypersensitivity
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require immediate medical attention.
- Skin rash
- Urticaria
- Angioedema
- Anaphylaxis (rare)
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Peptide interactions with plasma proteins may affect co-administered drugs
- Metabolism by peptidases — interactions with protease inhibitors possible
- Full interaction profile to be characterised
PREAUTONS–
- Renal clearance of peptides — caution in renal impairment
- Pregnancy safety not established
- Paediatric data lacking
- Injection technique training required for subcutaneous administration
WARNINGS –
- Hypersensitivity including anaphylaxis reported with peptide therapies
- Immunogenicity may develop with long-term use
- Use in clinical trial setting only
