CROSIGALCOGENE OMILXPARVOVEC
Generic Name: CROSIGALCOGENE OMILXPARVOVEC
ABSTRACT -
Crosigalcogene omilxparvovec is an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy designed to deliver a functional copy of a defective gene responsible for a rare lysosomal storage disorder or similar monogenic condition. A single administration aims to provide long-term or permanent restoration of enzymatic or protein function, reducing the burden of chronic enzyme replacement therapy. Clinical evaluation is ongoing in paediatric and adult patient populations.
DOSAGE -
SIDE EFFECTS-
Single intravenous infusion; dose expressed as vector genomes per kilogram body weight (vg/kg) per clinical protocol.
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require immediate medical attention.
- Anaphylaxis
- Complement activation-related pseudo-allergy (CARPA)
- Urticaria
- Angioedema
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Corticosteroids co-administered to mitigate immune response to AAV capsid
- Avoid other hepatotoxic drugs peri-infusion
- Immunosuppressive prophylaxis often required — check for interactions
PREAUTONS–
- Pre-existing anti-AAV antibodies may reduce efficacy or preclude treatment
- Liver function monitoring required weekly for first 3 months
- Male patients should use contraception for ≥6 months post-dosing
- One-time therapy — retreatment not established
WARNINGS –
- Acute severe immunological reactions to AAV capsid reported
- Hepatotoxicity may occur — dose steroid prophylaxis per protocol
- Long-term integration safety monitored under risk management plan
