ACORAMIDIS

Generic Name: ACORAMIDIS

ABSTRACT -

Acoramidis (AG10) is a small molecule transthyretin (TTR) stabilizer developed for the treatment of transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). It works by binding to the T4 binding sites on TTR tetramers, preventing their dissociation and subsequent misfolding into amyloid fibrils. It has received regulatory approval in some jurisdictions for ATTR-CM treatment.

DOSAGE - 

Acorafloxacin dosage is determined by clinical trial protocol and infection type. Typically administered intravenously or orally. Dosage adjustment required in renal impairment. Exact clinical dosing for routine use has not been approved.

SIDE EFFECTS –

Reported or potential side effects may include:

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, diarrhea)
  • Abdominal pain
  • Fatigue
  • Peripheral edema
  • Nasopharyngitis
  • Urinary tract infection

ALLRGIC REACTIONS–

  • Hypersensitivity reactions

DRUG INTERACTIONS–

  • Drugs that displace TTR-bound thyroxine
  • Strong CYP inhibitors/inducers
  • Warfarin (monitor INR)
  • Other TTR-binding agents

PREAUTIONS–

  • Thyroid function may be affected (monitor T4 levels).
  • Regular cardiac monitoring recommended.
  • Inform physician of all thyroid medications.
  • Safety during pregnancy not established.
  • Continued monitoring of cardiac function required.

WARNINGS –

  • Not a cure for ATTR-CM; disease management therapy.
  • Monitor thyroid function regularly.
  • Long-term safety data continue to be collected.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not discontinue without physician advice.
