CUPRUM (64Cu) ADARULATIDE
Generic Name: CUPRUM (64Cu) ADARULATIDE
ABSTRACT -
Cuprum (64Cu) adarulatide tetraxetan is a copper-64 radiolabeled peptide-chelator diagnostic radiopharmaceutical used/investigated for receptor-targeted positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The tetraxetan chelator complexes radioactive copper-64, while the peptide portion provides biological targeting for imaging distribution.
DOSAGE -
Administer only under a nuclear medicine or radiopharmacy protocol. The injected radioactivity, imaging time points, patient preparation, and radiation-safety instructions are product- or study-specific and must follow the approved label or protocol.
SIDE EEFECTS -
- Injection-site pain, redness, or bruising
- Nausea, flushing, headache, or dizziness
- Transient changes in blood pressure or heart rate
- Mild fatigue or discomfort after imaging
- Radiation exposure inherent to PET radiopharmaceuticals
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
(These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require medical attention.)
- Skin rash, hives, itching, or flushing
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Wheezing, chest tightness, or difficulty breathing
- Severe dizziness, fainting, or anaphylaxis
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Other receptor-binding peptide medicines may alter tracer uptake if they target the same pathway
- Recent diagnostic or therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals may affect radiation dosimetry and image interpretation
- Nephrotoxic or hydration-altering medicines may affect excretion and renal radiation exposure
- Provide a complete medication and imaging history before administration
PREAUTONS–
- Use only by trained personnel licensed for radioactive materials
- Confirm patient identity, pregnancy status, breastfeeding status, and imaging indication before dosing
- Encourage hydration and frequent voiding when clinically appropriate
- Handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials according to local regulations
- Interpret images with awareness of physiologic uptake and recent therapies
WARNINGS –
- Radioactive medicinal product: unnecessary radiation exposure should be avoided
- Pregnant or breastfeeding patients require individualized risk-benefit assessment
- Do not use if radiochemical identity, purity, or activity cannot be confirmed
- Availability and approved use may vary by country or trial protocol
