ALINTEGIMOD
Generic Name: ALINTEGIMOD
ABSTRACT -
Alintegimod is an investigational orally administered immuno-oncology medicine designed to activate selected integrins such as VLA-4 and LFA-1. By modulating leukocyte adhesion and trafficking, it is intended to enhance T-cell activation, immune-cell movement into tumors, and antitumor immune response. It has been studied in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors, but it is not an approved routine therapy and should be used only in a clinical-trial or specialist oncology setting.
DOSAGE -
- Alintegimod is investigational and does not have a universally established approved dosage regimen.
- It has been evaluated as an oral medicine in protocol-defined oncology trials, including combination regimens with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
- Dose, schedule, treatment cycles, combination therapy, eligibility, dose interruption, and dose modification must follow the clinical trial protocol.
- Patients should not use alintegimod outside a supervised oncology research setting.
SIDE EFFECTS–
- Reported or potential side effects may include:
- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Decreased appetite
- Headache
- Rash or itching
- Fever or chills
- Abdominal discomfort
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Immune-mediated adverse effects when combined with checkpoint inhibitors
- Laboratory abnormalities
- Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions
ALLRGIC REACTIONS–
(These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction to the drug.)
- Skin rash
- Itching
- Hives
- Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Difficulty breathing
- Wheezing
- Severe dizziness
- Rapid heartbeat
- Chest tightness
- Anaphylaxis
- Severe hypersensitivity reactions
DRUG INTERACTIONS–
- The interaction profile may include or require caution with:
- Immune checkpoint inhibitors such as ipilimumab, nivolumab, pembrolizumab, or similar agents
- Systemic corticosteroids or immunosuppressants that may reduce antitumor immune response
- Live vaccines or immune-stimulating therapies
- Medicines with significant liver toxicity
- Other investigational oncology medicines
- Strong enzyme or transporter inhibitors or inducers when required by the study protocol
- Patients should inform healthcare providers about all prescription medicines, non-prescription medicines, herbal products, and supplements being used.
PREAUTIONS–
- Use only in a specialist-supervised oncology clinical-trial setting.
- Assess baseline cancer status, autoimmune disease history, infection status, liver function, kidney function, hematology, and concomitant medicines.
- Monitor for immune-related toxicity such as colitis, hepatitis, pneumonitis, endocrinopathy, severe rash, or neurologic symptoms.
- Use caution in patients with active autoimmune disease, uncontrolled infection, organ transplant history, or serious cardiopulmonary disease.
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and pediatric safety have not been established.
WARNINGS –
- Alintegimod is investigational; safety, efficacy, optimal dose, and routine clinical role have not been fully established.
- Immune activation may contribute to serious inflammatory or immune-mediated adverse reactions, especially when used with checkpoint inhibitors.
- Severe diarrhea, jaundice, shortness of breath, severe rash, persistent fever, neurologic symptoms, or endocrine crisis symptoms require urgent evaluation.
- Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
- Use only under medical supervision in a clinical-trial or specialist oncology setting.
