ACTOXUMAB
Generic Name: ACTOXUMAB
ABSTRACT -
Actoxumab is an investigational human monoclonal antibody targeting Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) toxin A. It was developed to prevent recurrence of C. difficile infection (CDI) by neutralizing toxin A activity. Actoxumab has been studied in combination with bezlotoxumab (which targets toxin B) in clinical trials for CDI prevention.
DOSAGE -
Actoxumab was evaluated as a single intravenous infusion (10 mg/kg) in clinical trials, typically in combination with bezlotoxumab. No approved dosage for routine clinical use, as clinical development has been largely discontinued based on trial outcomes showing limited additional benefit over bezlotoxumab alone.
