EDONENTANT
Generic Name: EDONENTANT
ABSTRACT -
Edonentant is a small-molecule endothelin-pathway antagonist candidate. Endothelin blockade can affect vascular tone, fluid balance, and hepatic safety.
DOSAGE -
Dosing is protocol-specific; many endothelin antagonists require liver monitoring and pregnancy risk management.
SIDE EEFECTS -
- Headache
- Flushing or hypotension
- Peripheral edema
- Nasal congestion
- Liver-enzyme elevation
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require medical attention.
- Rash, urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, or anaphylaxis
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Strong CYP inhibitors/inducers may alter exposure depending on metabolism
- Other antihypertensives or vasodilators may increase hypotension
- Contraceptive interactions must be reviewed for some endothelin antagonists
PREAUTONS–
- Monitor liver function, hemoglobin, edema, blood pressure, and pregnancy status
- Avoid in pregnancy unless product labeling explicitly permits
- Verify receptor selectivity and indication
WARNINGS –
- Embryo-fetal toxicity and hepatotoxicity are important class concerns
