BERAHYALURONIDASE
Generic Name: BERAHYALURONIDASE
ABSTRACT -
Berahyaluronidase alfa is a recombinant hyaluronidase-type enzyme intended to depolymerize hyaluronan in extracellular matrix. Such enzymes are used or studied to improve dispersion and absorption of co-administered biologics or fluids.
This document is for structured API information only. It is not a prescribing guide. Clinical use, if any, must follow the approved local label, trial protocol, and specialist medical supervision.
DOSAGE-
- Administer only according to the approved label or clinical-trial protocol.
- Dose, schedule, route, and infusion time depend on indication and antibody format.
- Premedication and observation may be required for infusion or injection reactions.
- Do not shake, freeze, dilute, or combine unless the product instructions allow it.
SIDE EFFECTS-
Possible side effects and safety concerns include:
- Injection-site or infusion-related reactions
- Fever, chills, fatigue, headache, nausea, or myalgia
- Rash, pruritus, urticaria, or immune-mediated reactions
- Infection risk or inflammatory pathway effects depending on target
- Anti-drug antibody formation with reduced response or hypersensitivity
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
Hypersensitivity to Berahyaluronidase Alfa or related compounds/products may occur. Symptoms may include:
- Infusion reaction
- Rash, urticaria, or pruritus
- Bronchospasm or chest tightness
- Angioedema
- Anaphylaxis
Important: Patients who develop an allergic reaction to Berahyaluronidase Alfa should seek immediate medical attention and inform all future healthcare providers of the allergy.
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
Berahyaluronidase Alfa may interact with certain medicines, vaccines, protocols, or clinical conditions. Caution is needed with:
- Other immunomodulators may increase infection or immune-suppression risk
- Live vaccines may be inappropriate depending on immune effect
- Target-overlapping biologics may increase adverse effects
- Concomitant trial medicines must follow protocol-specific rules
Patients should inform healthcare providers about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, herbal products, vaccines, and supplements they are using.
PREAUTIONS–
- Screen for infections and relevant immunologic risks when indicated.
- Monitor during and after administration for hypersensitivity reactions.
- Use aseptic handling and correct cold-chain storage.
- Assess pregnancy, lactation, and immune status before treatment.
WARNINGS –
- Severe hypersensitivity or infusion reactions can occur.
- Immune modulation may increase infection or inflammatory complications.
- Product interchangeability should not be assumed across antibody biologics.
- Keep out of reach of children.
