DUTEPLASE
Generic Name: DUTEPLASE
ABSTRACT -
Duteplase is a thrombolytic protein related to tissue plasminogen activator. It is intended to promote conversion of plasminogen to plasmin and fibrin clot breakdown.
DOSAGE -
Protocol- or region-specific use only. Thrombolytic dosing must be individualized by indication, timing, body weight, and bleeding risk.
SIDE EEFECTS -
- Bleeding
- Hypotension
- Nausea or fever
- Reperfusion arrhythmias in myocardial infarction settings
- Injection-site bleeding
ALLERGIC REACTIONS -
(These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction and require medical attention.)
- Hypersensitivity reaction
- Rash or urticaria
- Bronchospasm
- Anaphylaxis (rare)
DRUG INTERACTIONS-
- Anticoagulants and antiplatelets increase bleeding risk
- NSAIDs may increase bleeding risk
- Other fibrinolytics are generally avoided concurrently
PREAUTONS–
- Screen for contraindications to thrombolysis
- Monitor neurologic status and bleeding
- Use only where emergency resuscitation and monitoring are available
WARNINGS –
- Major and fatal bleeding, including intracranial hemorrhage, can occur
