ENOXAPARIN
Generic Name : ENOXAPARIN
ABSTRACT -
Enoxaparin is a medication drug that is used to treat a blood clot condition called deep vein thrombosis. This condition generally furthers blood clots within the lungs and the respiratory system, generally occurring after a severe illness or a serious surgery. This anticoagulant is also used to prevent blood-clot related complications in patients that suffer from severe angina or heart attack. This drug is classified as a heparin.
DOSAGE –
- Enoxaparin is to be taken as directed by the doctors. Consume this drug only as prescribed to avoid overdose or other harmful effects.
- This drug is generally injected subcutaneously, or given as an infusion into a vein.
- Dispose of leftover vials.
- General Adult Dosage available: Injection – 40mg/0.4mL, 60mg/0.6mL

PRECAUTIONS –
- Provide the doctor with a detailed and accurate medical history prior to drug prescription. Notify especially in case of illnesses such as bleeding disorders, hemorrhagic stroke, any heart conditions, intestinal bleeding or any cranial injury.
- Inform the doctor of all the drugs being consumed so as to avoid severe drug interactions.
- Do not consume this drug in case of an allergy to Enoxaparin, or in case of uncontrolled bleeding or low platelet count.
- Do not nurse while on drug course as Enoxaparin can transfer through breast milk and cause harm to a newborn.
- Notify a surgeon of drug intake in case of an upcoming surgery.
WARNINGS –
- Keep out of reach of children.
- This drug can cause serious blood clots surrounding the spine in case of spinal taps or the receiving or spinal anesthesia. Get emergency help in case of severe numbness around the back.
- In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately. Overdose of this drug can cause severe bleeding.
