Epilepsy Disease
Epilepsy Disease is a chronic neurological disease which is caused by temporary change in electrical functioning of the brain. Normally, neural messages are transmitted through the brain in a particular rhythm as chemicals. In epilepsy, the brain’s neural rhythms get disrupted, resulting in seizures. There is a sudden surge of electrical energy which tends to affect sensations and movement. There can be two types of seizures namely generalized and focal. Symptoms of this disease are temporary confusion, staring spells, shaky movement of arms and legs, fear and anxiety. Epilepsy disease may be caused due to transmission of affected genes, head trauma or injury, other neurological conditions. It also comes with a small risk of sudden unexpected death due to epilepsy.
