Huntingtons disease

Huntington’s disease is a genetic neurological disease. It is caused due to a hereditary condition which passes on to patients to cause wasting away of nerve cells or their degeneration. This disease is usually detected in the middle ages. Early symptoms of the Huntington’s disease are balancing problems, uncontrolled movements, clumsiness and orientation issues. It may also cause cognitive and psychiatric complications. A blood test can be done to diagnose HD and there’s a 50% chance of the offspring getting it from the parent. This disease can hamper basic day to day functions. Being a progressive disease, this disease causes the patient to end up in bed in its last stages. An appointment with a genetics counselor can help prevent HD.
