Leg exercise for Nervous System health
A breakthrough study has revealed that neurological or Nervous System health depend significantly on the signals sent by the large leg muscles to the brain and vice versa. This study was published in 'Frontiers in Neuroscience' where it answered some fundamental questions as why patients with disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis experience a decline in condition when their movement gets restricted. It is proved that people who are unable to lift or go exercise daily undergo alterations in their cellular chemistry which adversely impacts the nervous system. This research was conducted on mice and it was found that using legs especially for lifting weights sends signals to the brain that are vital for the production of healthy neural cells. Hence, this research proves the importance of exercise in the upkeep of health, both mentally and physically.
