Hormone therapy linked to Alzheimes risk
Long term use of hormone therapy could be linked to risk of Alzheimer’s, says a new study from London. There was an increasing risk of Alzheimer’s of 9-17% in the people who use oral hormone therapy. Use of this therapy for more than 10 years can increase risk and it is suggested that the therapy is used in short periods only. Vaginal therapy shows no such risk. An observational study has proved this and hence the real cause of this link is unknown. Even though the potential risk is small, women should be warned about the use of this therapy for a long period of time.
