Low calories diet reduces chances of Neurological Diseases
In an experiment, two groups of mice were used to determine the effect of calories consumed on mental state. One group was not restricted in calorie consumption while the other was given 40% low calories. Consequently, both the groups were injected with a substance known to cause seizures and cell death. The mice with lower calories consumption did not experience seizures whilst the other group did. This study was conducted in Washington DC and was authored by Alicia Kowaltowski. The study has proved that a low calorie diet can protect the brain from neuronal cell death, which can cause Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy and Cerebrovascular Accident.
