HEART AND LIVER TRANSPLANT IN IGIMS
State health minister announced that the heart and Liver transplants will be starting soon at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS). The doctor’s team of IGIMS is taking training at AIIMS-Delhi. Recently the health minister Pandey inaugurated the temporal bone and cochlear implant lab of the ENT, radiation centre for cancer and medicine department at IGIMS. The cochlear implant would be able to give life to the deaf and speech impaired persons. The government will give subsidy of Rs.5 lakhs to the family who are having less than 2.5 lakhs annual income and can avail this treatment facility. The minister also added that the IGIMS is currently giving treatments for more than 100 cancer patients.
